Courtney Johnson

Courtney is an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) in the state of Georgia. She is a Double Eagle, having earned her bachelor of science in psychology and master of education in Counselor Education – Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia Southern University. Courtney enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds. She has experience working with a variety of mental health disorders and areas of concern, including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief and loss, anger, LGBTQIA+, and self-esteem/confidence issues. She also has experience working with substance use disorders. She is currently working towards her certification in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, also known as TF-CBT. Courtney utilizes a person-centered, talk therapy approach, allowing the client to take the lead in their healing journey. She enjoys incorporating aspects of music, art, and play into her therapeutic techniques, as well as mindfulness based approaches. She utilizes holistic and integrative treatments, believing that each client’s story is different, requiring different therapeutic styles.

In her free time, Courtney enjoys reading, playing video games, and spending time with her two pets, a dog named Jupiter and a cat named Ollie. She loves to discover new hobbies and self-care activities, such as hand-crocheting, punch needling, and gardening. She is an avid lover of music and is always searching for new artists to enjoy.
